But where are the Bluetooth versions?

So Microsoft announced six new wireless optical desktop components, but none of them utilize Bluetooth for connectivity. Rather, one of your USB ports will still be eaten up by the RF receiver. Don’t get me wrong, I love the freedom from clutter that the older Wireless Desktop Optical Pro keyboard and mouse give me at the office. I would prefer Bluetooth versions of the same for use at home, however.

Head on over to Logitech. Better products, IMO, anyway and it's one less way to patronize the evil that is MS. The Bluetooth MX 900 was just announced, which is based on the MX 700 that has a recharging cradle. A Bluetooth keyboard is also available, though it won't interest me until there's an angled/split version.

Yes, anything to not patronize the hegemony is welcomed. As far as my keyboards go, of the three I use (work, 2 at home), only 1 has seen my own dollars go to Microsoft, and those dollars were significantly fewer than would be otherwise. That keyboard was purchased through a friend who works for the Evil Empire of computing; in other words, it was at cost, about 1/3 of the average retail price.

I use only ergonomic keyboards, currently all of the Microsoft Natural persuasion, and will not go back to using a standard keyboard unless that was all that was available. The only time I use a non-ergonomic keyboard is when I'm typing on my PowerBook's integrated keyboard.

The MX900 is nice, but a bit much at 100 smackers just for a mouse. I have been thinking that what I really want is to go back to a trackball of some kind. I used a Kensington Orbit for the longest time, and still have a USB version I should dig out and use. At home, all of my mice are Kensington opticals.

So the first vendor to come out with a quality Bluetooth ergonomic keyboard and trackball combo gets my business.

So, has anyone come out with a Bluetooth ergonomic split-key keyboard yet? I want one. Thanks.

I, too, would kill for an ergonomic / split bluetooth keyboard. It would really make my life easier, and I'd be willing to pay some pretty big bucks for the convenience.
