Beginning of VPC’s end?

Karl Dandenell reports to Ric Ford on MacInTouch that Virtual PC 6 is not supported on Power Mac G5s. There is potential hope in that Microsoft states in the tech note they are working on G5 support for the application. This avoids a Retrophisch™ “I told you so” moment for the time being. After all, how long did it take Microsoft to bring HALO to another platform?

As much as I hate to agree with/support MS, this came up when the G5 first came out and MS was very up front about it.

I haven't looked at a VPC box lately, so I don't know if it's labeled as not working with a G5, but it sounds to me like Mr. Dandenell didn't do any research before making a purchase. Like he said, it's noted somewhere on the MacTopia web site and it was on a number of different Mac sites last summer.

Hm. At least Mr. Dandenell refrained from vandalizing billboards...

Also, there are valid technical reasons why the G5 is not currently supported.

Yeah, that's what I meant but MS being up front about it.

I stopped short of saying that we'd probably be waiting even in Connectix still owned VPC, seeing as though I know nothing about what their level of staffing.
