To sleep or not to sleep...

…that is the question.

Dr. Dutton says that Davis is at the age where he should start sleeping longer through the night, and within the next six weeks, we should look at about 6-7 hours of uninterrupted sleep!

This week, however, that has not been the case. I believe this is mostly due to Davis having had two rounds of shots this week, the first on Monday, the followup on Wednesday. We have had a night of 4 solid hours, and another of 5 hours, so things are looking up in that department.

From squirmey worm to moose

Davis had a weight check and first round of immunizations on Monday, the 13th. He clocked in at 10 pounds, 8 ounces! Doctor Dutton said, not accounting for being born two months premature, that he was right on average for his weight and in the 55 percentile for his height. If she did factor in the two-months, he would be in the 85-90 percentile for both. Our little guy is growing, growing, growing!

Road trip

This past weekend, Davis went on his first road trip, to visit his Grandma Pat in Houston, where she is undergoing chemotherapy. The family left on Thursday, October 2d, and arrived back home on Monday, the 6th, Davis’s original due date.

The little fellow handled the trip very well, though we think he got a little tired of sleeping in his Pack ‘N’ Play. Riding around in the car proved to have the same drowsy effect on Davis as it does on his mom.

Davis got to visit with his Grandma Pat for about an hour on Sunday, the 5th, and I think getting to hold him had to be the highlight of her stay thus far at M.D. Anderson. Grandpa Bucky not only held but fed Davis the Thursday before. This was the first time the Lannings got to hold their grandson, and to no one’s surprise, they’re naturals. Grandparental spoilage will continue unabated, I’m sure.
