First fever, first cold

Yep, this week the ickyness has hit our little guy. On Monday night/Tuesday morning, he was running a slight fever, but after some Children’s Tylenol and some rest, he broke that.

Last night, he started getting stopped up, and has a wet cough. Doctor Dutton says Davis is too small for any meds that would knock this thing out, but has given us lots of things to do to make him as comfy as possible while this thing runs its course.

Hello, kitty

Yesterday, Zane decided to introduce himself to Davis.

Mom and Dad had Davis on our bed as we took turns looking after him while we bathed and got ready to run errands. At one point, Dad had Davis sitting up on the bed; Davis loves to sit up, even though he still can’t hold his head up without support.

As Mom sat down next to us to steal some sugar from her little guy, Zane, our grey cat, jumped up on the bed. Zane loves Kelly, and I think Davis joining the family has affected him the most of all; he can’t just jump up on Mom’s lap and spend hours there any more.

Well, Zane saw Davis, walked right over to him, and put his head and shoulders into Davis’s side, rubbing up against our little guy! Then Zane went and did it again!

With that, Mom and Dad held Davis’s hand out and let him pet Zane, an experience they both seemed to enjoy, as Davis smiled and Zane loved on the baby yet again by rubbing up against him. All in all, a real Hallmark moment!

Sitting pretty

Today we took Davis in for his three-month pictures, and our little guy was just great! He was in a good mood, and we got a couple of smiles out of him. Our photographer was really good at soothing Davis and getting him to focus; she was also very fast on the trigger! You have to be when you’re shooting kids…

Photos are forthcoming to the online albums, as are pictures of Davis dressed for Halloween!
