First Christmas

Davis’s first Christmas was a great one! The little guy did well on the 20-hour round-trip drive, only getting really cranky the last two hours of the return trek.

He got to see his Grandma Pat, who was home from the hospital for the holidays, as well as doting Grandpa Bucky. Aunt Tresa took over the Christmas responsibilities this year, and did a super job, even getting Davis his very own Pooh stocking. Uncle David met Davis for the first time, and though apprehensive, held his nephew, too!

The reception was equally warm (not surprisingly) from the Turner side of the family in Baton Rouge. Davis’s great-Uncle J.D. and great-Aunt Kay, as well as second-cousins Jay and Heather, with Heather’s husband Robbie, got to see the little guy for the first time in person. To say he was the hit of both gatherings would be an understatement, and despite coming down with a cold, Davis was in good spirits throughout. His Nannie even added a snowman figure to her outdoor exhibit of angels and gingerbread men, representing her grandchildren and now, great-grandchild.

Needless to say, the kid racked up on the gifts, too…
