Earthquake relief

World Vision is one of many non-government organizations (NGOs) providing emergency survival kits in Indonesia, as a result of the recent earthquake there. World Vision’s kits include blankets, temporary shelter, medicine and clothing. If you’re seeking to help out with relief efforts there, please consider a donation to World Vision.

Wonderful Comment

Kenneth, one of Steve’s readers, left this comment:

In Christ we have a love that can never be fathomed, a life that can never die, a peace that can never be understood, a rest that can never be disturbed, a joy that can never be diminished, a hope that can never be disappointed, a glory that can never be clouded, a light that can never be darkened, and a spiritual resource that can never be exhausted.

See what He sees

Greg Laurie:

Here is what it comes down to: God looks at us and sees what He can make us into. We look in the mirror and see our flaws. We see our shortcomings. We see our mistakes. But God sees us and says, “I see what you can be.”

Blessed to bless

Mark D. Roberts has written a prayer inspired by Psalm 103:1. I like his response; nothing I have, including my wife and son, are mine. They belong first and foremost to God. For instance, my wife and I are simply caretakers of our little boy, and for a short while. In time, he will become a man, making his own decisions (and hopefully wise ones, if we do our jobs as parents right). God has blessed our son, and will continue to bless him, in ways which have yet to be revealed. Hopefully, our son will use his blessings to bless the Lord.
